Our Story

This is

I was helping out at a local Church, Immanuel Bible Church, who were having an outreach with Gospel presentation & food & games and  supplying backpacks filled with school supplies for the local community. Someone took this photo and posted it on Facebook. Immediately a brother from Nepal, Enoch, contacted me asking if I could send backpacks to local students, consisting of orphans, low cast students.

The Seed was planted!

When Enoch contacted me and asked if I could send some backpacks to Nepal, I replied, "Sorry you have the wrong guy". I was just helping a local church fill backpacks for a small outreach program the following day. They had provided 50 backpacks for an outreach event with hot dogs, popcorn, games, and a message about the Gospel.

Immediately, the Lord impressed upon me, "Why not? Why not become that guy?"

I prayed about it and asked everyone where to begin. I thought I could simply ask friends for money, gather donations, and send backpacks to Nepal.

It wasn't that easy. Many things needed to be done. The first step, I was told, was to establish a ministry. It became clear I actually needed to have a ministry in place. Feeling overwhelmed, I started praying again.

I sent some money to Enoch in Nepal, and a few days later, he sent me a video. I was blown away by what God had accomplished. Realizing God was in this, I knew it was definitely going to happen.

I asked Enoch how many students were in the schools he was involved with. He told me there were two schools: one with 125 students and the other with 250, totaling 375 students. It was a crazy number! I had originally been thinking about sending only 50-75 backpacks. I quickly learned: "Go big or go home"!

As I became aware of everything that needed to be done, "Backpacks for Nepal" was born.

I needed to form a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, which would cost about $220. Thankfully, a lawyer generously offered his services for free! Even better, he paid the application fees as well.

I started working on a website, although I had no idea what I was doing. But that's okay! When we can't do something, God is more than capable. Once again, God provided. A friend who is a professional website developer generously created this website for free! God is truly good.

Enoch had asked if my "team" was coming to Nepal to distribute backpacks. Well, if you're reading this, you are now part of the team!

Please pray for us. There's a link on our website where you can request prayer, and if you feel led to partner with us financially, we are incredibly grateful.

So, it's now time to spread the word. Please tell your friends about bp4N.org.
